Autoclaving Tape (also known as steam indicator tape) is a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape used to seal sterilization wraps and indicate exposure to steam sterilization processes. It provides a visual confirmation that a pack has undergone autoclaving.

Key Features:

• Material: Crepe paper backing with heat-sensitive chemical indicator ink

• Adhesive Type: Strong, pressure-sensitive adhesive for secure sealing

• Indicator Markings: Printed stripes that change color after exposure to steam sterilization (typically beige to dark brown/black)

• Temperature Compatibility: Designed for use in standard steam autoclave cycles (121°C–134°C)

• Residue: Removes cleanly without leaving adhesive residue

• Sizes Available: Various widths (e.g., 12mm, 18mm, 24mm) and standard roll lengths

Applications:

Used in hospitals, dental clinics, laboratories, and sterilization departments to secure instrument packs and provide process indication during autoclaving.

Important Note:

Autoclaving tape indicates exposure to the sterilization process but does not confirm sterility of the contents. For sterility assurance, biological or chemical indicators should also be use
